Artist Statement
My practice explores nature, material, and transformation, with a focus on the relationship between humans and the environment. Working with photography, sculpture, drawing, and painting, I often reuse materials, allowing the process to guide me.
I am drawn to the contrast between rusted, burnt, dirty materials and pristine, delicate materials. This tension reflects my interest in how nature itself goes through phases of growth and decay, and how both can be equally captivating.
While some of my works speak directly of natural systems and human impact, other pieces are intuitive and material-driven. I am very interested in colour, texture, and how combining tones, materials, and forms can evoke different emotions. Even in abstract works, natural motifs and organic forms continue to resurface, revealing my fascination with the natural world.
Through both conceptual and intuitive approaches, my work highlights nature’s resilience and interconnectedness, encouraging looking closer at the often unnoticed systems that sustain all life.
